about the show:
the title of the exhibition makes reference to a manipulation of, or a playing with, materials. it also considers, with colour, humor and a bit of irony – the idea of art as decoration. in all i want is to covet you, collins takes the cube – a stark and minimalist geometric shape and adorns it with delicate necklace of silk and freshwater pearls to create an ambiguous construction. this piece represents a certain dualism, monolithic but also fragile – it denotes the contrast in associated meanings of the different materials. another work, inherit the window, is a large wall-based installation of two images repeated in an endless cycle of a propagation of pattern, where background and foreground are blurred and images converge.
