Production History

 

Solas Nua's theatre programming has garnered a reputation for innovation and daring work. The New York Times called Solas Nua "exciting"  "sheer energy" and The Washington Post praised the company as "the most new vital troupe in town." The company began in 2005, performing in various venues in Washington, DC as well as site-specific productions that have excited audiences, creating a taste for innovation and bold, new work. Solas Nua has received multiple Helen Hayes Award nominations and was the recipient of the the DC Mayor's Arts Award for Innovation in the Arts. Solas Nua is proud to have collaborated with so many talented artists from Ireland and The United States, including Fishamble: The New Play Company, Tinderbox, The Performance Corporation, and more.
