Twenty Years of Solas Nua

1,000+ Irish Artists

Solas Nua was founded in 2005, to bring the best of contemporary Irish arts to Washington D.C. Over the last twenty years, we have established an annual film festival, won three Helen Hayes Awards, and showcased the work of over 1,000 Irish artists. From our first production, Enda Walsh’s Disco Pigs, to hosting Enda Walsh this summer for a festival of his work, Solas Nua has grown into a critically acclaimed arts organization — and we want to celebrate our successes with you/those who make our work possible!

In March, on our annual Irish Book Day, Solas Nua kicked off our 20th anniversary year. Over the next few months, we will revisit what we’ve built together over the last 20 years. Be sure to follow our social media pages and subscribe to our newsletter as we spotlight content from our archive. If you would like to share memories of past Solas Nua productions, please send them to contact@solasnua.org.

While we reflect on our past, we are also putting a “new light” as we look forward to the next 20 years of Solas Nua — imagining new programming offerings, strengthening relationships with existing partners, and continuing to introduce contemporary Irish arts to new audiences.

We hope you will celebrate 20 years with us at one of our book groups, a concert or play, or at our 20th anniversary events in September and March!
